Neuropsychoanalysis: transitional coaching space as a game
Psychoanalytical coaching
Abstract
In this article, a detailed analysis of D. V. Winnicott's ideas about the transitional space and the transitional objects through which it is set is carried out. The symbolic character of transitional spaces and its influence on a person is emphasized. The transitional phenomena’s logic of the emergence, their expression in children's and adult games is shown. Based on the basic emotional systems identified in the neuropsychoanalytic concept of consciousness by M. Solms and J. Panksepp, the ideas about the game as a universal basic emotional system for humans and animals are generalized. This paper substantiates the consideration of the transitional space of coaching as a game in the considered sense. Special emphasis is placed on solving affective problems in games, which differ from logical ones by the need to include a person in the very situation of their solution. The article theoretically highlights and summarizes the psychoanalytic features of improving the effectiveness of coaching as a game. The use of these features in conducting a series of coaching sessions with four clients and their subsequent interpretation confirms the effectiveness of solving clients' affective tasks during coaching.
