Ineffectiveness of Self-analysis without Preliminary Individual Work with a Psychoanalytically Oriented Counsellor
Problems of self-analysis
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to popularize preliminary individual work with a psychoanalyticallyoriented counsellor and to increase psychological literacy among those who do not seek support from a professional and are engaged in self-analysis. In this article I explore the effectiveness and significance of Freud's "primal" self-analysis and examine in detail the unconscious tools and their influence on the analytic process in individual work with a professional. I also want to show the ineffectiveness of Nietzsche's self-analysis through the example of the philosopher's early and later works, as a model of the individual self-search in the process of introspection and the analytic mind reconstruction through the art of overcoming the divided self. In terms of practical relevance, the work can be useful both to psychoanalytically oriented professionals for additional argumentation and understanding of the usefulness of the dyadic analytic process, and to potential clients whofind the fact of self-analysis therapeutic and effective, which most often can be ineffective.
