Abstract

This work is dedicated to the psychoanalytic perspective on masochism, including the feminine masochism, which is a part of female sexuality. It also addresses the rejection of femininity.
We examined the theoretical works of psychoanalysts devoted to the issue of masochism and to the psychosexual development of women, we also identified the most thoughtful concepts of rejection of femininity out of all currently known and created the main guidelines for further investigation of psychoanalytic theories of masochism and rejection of femininity. These issues are not only an important part of the whole psychoanalytic view of the individual, but are extremely important for the psychoanalytic understanding of modern man. Therefore studies on this issue can be useful not only in the context of scientific psychology, but also for a psychoanalytical or psychotherapeutic practice.
