Psychobiography: reflections on crisis of the genre

Abstract

Present article explores a brief history of psychobiographic method of personality research and discusses the evolution of interpretation techniquy: from psychiatric approach (Lelu, Mobius) to psychoanalytic (Freud, Erickson, Horney) in its various variations. Author considers the fundamental problem of the method and proposes a technical approach for its settlement.
