Abstract

In this article, the author profoundly explores the concept of reality in a metapsychological sense, based on a consistent and elegant analysis of this concept in the works of Freud, originally a neurophysiologist, and defines reality as a perceptual activity and its products, the object and, finally, the desire of the Other.

Vassilis Kapsambelis

Vassilis Kapsambelis, psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, titular member of the Paris Psychoanalytic Society, ex-director general of the Association of Mental Health of the 13th arrondissement of Paris, ex-director of the Center of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy by Evelyn and Jean Kestemberg, and editor-in-chief of «La Revue Française de Psychanalyse», author of numerous works, including on psychotic and borderline functioning.
