Abstract

Salvador Dali is a true cultural phenomenon of the 20th century. His work has made an invaluable contribution to world art. The glory of the great Spaniard was brought not only by his outstanding paintings, but also by his eccentric behavior, provoking statements about himself and others, and in general – a carefully constructed scandalous image. Salvador Dali dabbled in a variety of styles, from youthful Cubism and Impressionism to Neoclassicism in adulthood, yet he is best known as a stunning master of Surrealism. His work is multifaceted and varied – he is the author of advertising logos, illustrations and lithographs, scripts and memoirs, art and cookbooks. paintings by Salvador Dali are an open door to the mysterious world of the unconscious. The study and interpretation of his work makes a valuable contribution to the psychoanalysis of art and the understanding of the symbols of the unconscious. This article is a psychoanalytic interpretation of the symbols of the unconscious in selected works of art by Salvador Dali.
