Abstract
Is it possible to speak of the infantile non-sexual? If so, in what way? When and under what conditions does the so-called "operational thinking" arise in a person? What factors contribute to this? The way a mother lulls her baby to sleep – what maternal message can it contain? In this article, the author reflects on these questions, basing on the main concepts of the Paris Psychosomatic School of Pierre Marty. The author touches upon such a concept as self-soothing procedures that implement a form of attachment to an external object when the representation of an internal object is not achieved.
