Psychoanalytic theory of Matte-Blanco

Abstract

This article continues the introduction to the mental conceptualization of Chilean psychoanalyst Ignacio Matte-Blanco’s internal world begun in the previous issue. The author gives his vision of what occurs inside a psychoanalytic pair at a psychoanalytic session, basing his reflections on the concept of a multilevel (stratified) structure of Matte Blanco’s psyche. It also continues the reasoning as to what occurs in different areas of the internal world considered from the perspective of the mechanisms of projection and introjection. Of interest is analysis of the area of the basic matrix of projection and introjection and its presumptive relationship with the early period of development.
