Abstract

The analyst is the guarantor of the setting; professionalism helps the analyst resist the patient's endless attacks on the frame. In choosing a frame, the analyst should think it over well. A frame offered by the analyst to the patient without regard for their early trauma can lead to severe consequences as actings and somatizations.
