Abstract

The paper presents some reflections about identity and identification evoked by reading Anne Amos’ paper "Identification and pathological identification: implications for the development of identity". Both papers were presented in early versions on 33-th Ukrainian Kleinian Seminar, supported be Melanie Klein Trust, in February 2021. In the paper investigated the issues of different forms of identification, pathologic and healthy identity, clinical application of Kleinian theories of identification, and some philosophical aspects of identity topic in the context of definition of psychoanalysis aim and its place in European philosophical tradition.

Shadt department of theoretical and practical philosophy of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University philosophical faculty. An editor of "Era of countertransference", an editor of translation of M. Klein, R. Hinshelwood’s, J. Steiner’s and other books, a Head of Ukrainian Kleinian seminars program, supported by Melanie Klein Trust.
