Abstract

In the article, on the clinical example of a patient with tinnitus, the psychosomatic personality or «somatic person» is detailed, i.e. a person whose mental functioning is replaced by bodily or behavioral one to a greater extent than in most cases. The very physical suffering of the patient evokes forgotten memories of a hidden trauma, or the somatic symptom is an indirect message to another. Detailed psychodynamic insight and emotional drives of a patient with tinnitus. The specificity of the psychodynamic narrative approach is shown. The most preferred approach for patients with tinnitus is psychotherapy, which combines expressive and supportive strategies.
