Symbol, symbolization and "psychological chimera" by Michel de M'Uzan
BASIC CONCEPTS OF FRENCH PSYCHOANALYSIS
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the possible relationship of the symbol in its philosophical and aesthetic understanding and the "psychological chimera" of Michel de M'Uzan. In an attempt to clarify the dynamic nature of the symbol and symbolization (in philosophical, artistic and psychoanalytic contexts), we see several important analogies between the symbolic work and the functioning of the "chimera", as Michel de M'Uzan describes it. To build the necessary connections, a "symbolic subject" is placed at the center of the study – that is, a subject who creates symbolic. The latter requires the inclusion of unconscious resources, and in the same form of interaction as Michel de M'Uzan suggests regarding an unconscious patient and analyst. Is it possible to find the symbolic "roots" of the "chimeras" described by Michel de M'Uzan? By some signs, they are seen in the idealistic theory of symbolic, which can shed light on the origins of the "chimera" as a special product of the activities of the unconscious, associated with symbolic functioning within the framework of artistic activity.
