Abstract

This paper is an art-psychoanalytic study of the mini-series Unortodox / "Unorthodox", which released on Netflix in March 2020. It is the story of a young woman who was brought up in the isolated Hasidic ultra-orthodox community and ran away in order to find a way to express yourself creatively in modern world. We put this story in the context of today's social events: the self-isolation undertaken by people around the world for the purpose of survival under the threat of COVID-19. In a context where people use ritual as a way to deal with anxiety and fear of vanishing. The article implements a brief psychoanalytic analysis, identifying some key areas that can be developed and refined in order to enhance the creative thinking of the participants in the psychoanalytic process.
