Abstract

This paper presents the case study of suicide committed by the pilot of flight 4U9525. Using biographical method based on the public data about education and professional development of the pilot, his correspondence with relatives and doctors root causes of suicide were analyzed. The main purpose of the study is to apply the psychoanalytic method to the analysis of symptoms, understanding the causes of suicide and the plan of preventive measures that can be implemented in the aviation.

Denis A. Kulikov, Worked as a Risk Manager of JSC "Aeroflot" for over 4 years. After that spent more than 5 years on the senior positions aviation risks insurance divisions in leading insurance and reinsurance companies (AlfaStrakhovanie and SOGAZ). For the last 5 years has been working as a Partner in the leading insurance broker in aviation – SeaLine Insurance Broker LLC. Has extensive experience in investigating and handling various insurance events in the aviation industry. Master of Psychology (HSE), Psychoanalytically-oriented consultant psychologist and coach. Recently got education in London on a joint program of the Tavistock and Portman Trust and the University of Essex in a psychodynamic and systematic approach to consulting organizations and leadership. Member of Association of psychoanalytic coaching and business consulting, member of International Society for the Psychoanalytic Study of Organizations.
